Target: Hildesheim
Clear, good visibility. Target identified by Hannover on H2S, smoke screen, identified railway and by M/B's instructions. Bombed at 1409 hours from 14800 feet, heading 122T, speed 206 TAS, on large buildings as in photo of T/A. Bomb explosions seen, great columns of smoke to 10,000 feet. Few green T.I.'s seen, bombing accurate. M/B heard clearly. Very good effort, gaggle good in T/A but scattered coming out and faster than briefed, by 40 mph. Couldn't keep up at 190 T.A.S. Smoke visible, black and white, visible at 180 miles. Many Mustangs seen. Straight and level for photo.
