D.D. 358.- Armed recce area GRONINGEN-PAPENBURG (Area X) 331 Sqdr. participated on this operation with 3 section of 4 a/c each, first section being airborne at 14.35 hrs. Very little movement was seen in this area. The following score was obtained:- 1 staff car flamer, 1 Met destroyed, 1 staff car and 2 Met. damaged. Yellow section when attacking and destroying one of this Met. met intense opposition from light flak guns and it is believed that the target was a flak trap. All our a/c returned to base with neither damage nor casualties and the last section landed at 19.35 hrs.
