Ramrod 859. Acting as Close Escort to 36 Marauders the Wing took off from Bradwell Bay at 0935 hours, making rendez-vous with the bombers on time over North Foreland. The operation went according to plan. The marshalling yards at Mons were bombed, the pilots reporting that the bombing had been very good. Neither enemy aircraft were seen nor was flak experienced. The Wing landed at the base at 1142 hours. It was Ramrod 859.
