Six A/C took off from base (CELONE) on armed recce of coast and inland roads on 5th Army Front. There was no cloud but the night was dark and although horizontal visibility was good there was haze over the inland roads in target area. 10 M/T were observed S.E. of FROSINONE, the town was bombed and many blue flashes were observed over a period. M/T moving N from CEPRANO-FROSINONE and N.E. towards ARCE were bombed. Comparatively little activity reported on APPIAN WAY. A very large fire at NETTUNO (F8718) observed from a distance and bombed at 2230 hours. [N.B. at dawn 22 JAN new bridge-head landing at NETTUNO]. Opposition: slight LF from A/D W of FROSINONE, 10-12 white flares rising to 3000 from G.1824.
