Escort-Bomphoons. Roadstead 102. Acted as cover with 8 Spits of 165 Sqdn under W/C Smallwood, to Bomphoons from Harrowbeer attacking Elbing destroyer as above [Shipping recco, 10:55-11:55]. Trip across uneventful. Bomphoons attacked with 16-500lb bombs with this unit as top cover. Over target and flying at 15,000 feet saw four near misses to starboard bow. Destroyer observed still with slight list to starboard. Light inaccurate flak from ship. No enemy a/c seen. All returned to base.
